The lad’s bin oot hewin neeps a day ‘n he comes hame shit deen in his mirey beets. So his heeds in aye place; bit the wife’s day’s bin diffrint, ‘n the kids heeds are in a diffrint place fae either o them. Bit that’s jist the wye things is, ‘n its amazin hoo a the diffrint bitties manage tae hud thegithir. The weary agricultural labourer comes home in his muddy boots. His head is in a different space from that of his wife and children. But that is how things are and it is wonderful that everything manages to hold together.
